Merger of Findlays Chartered Accountants and Dand Carnegie Chartered Accountants

Dand Carnegie Chartered Accountants who have been based in Broughty Ferry since 2008, have now become part of Findlays Chartered Accountants in Dundee, whose roots go back to 1932.

Dand Carnegie Partner Kenny Laing described the merger, which took effect from December 1st 2022, as a “fantastic opportunity for Dand Carnegie to move to a successful firm which shares a very similar outlook to ourselves”.

He added “Findlays are a well established and highly respected accountancy practice and this merger gives us access to significant, well regarded professional experience. We pride ourselves on our service, and this will provide our clients with an opportunity to continue with a long-term partnership, with familiar faces and access to a wider service offering”.

Under the terms of the merger all of Dand Carnegie's team have transferred to Findlays' Dundee office based in Dudhope Terrace. Senior Partner Alan Dand will remain on a part time consultancy basis to allow him to transition towards retirement, with Kenny Laing appointed as Partner.

Findlays Chartered Accountants, who have offices in both Dundee and Arbroath and currently employ 35 people, recently celebrated their 90th Anniversary.

Findlays Partner Sandy Squires said “We have welcomed Kenny and the team to Findlays and we are excited about the significant benefits arising from this merger. Their clients are an important element in the business and because we have a complementary skill set, we will now be able to offer them a broader range of services and the back up of a larger team.”

We share similar values, including a commitment to professionalism and the delivery of expert advice, and it is this shared approach that brought our two business together, expanding our client base and depth of experience.

This is an exciting time for our team and our clients. We are very much looking forward to the next chapter”.
